A Lifelong Passion for Scripture and Truth
I was born in Washington, D.C., while my family lived in Arlington, Virginia. We soon moved to Bethesda, Maryland, where I was raised. My father worked for the National Institutes of Health, and I was brought up in a Lutheran home.
As a young man, I attended Luther College and served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974. During that time I married a North Carolina girl, and after my discharge we settled in North Carolina. I once felt called to the ministry, but I became disillusioned with the church and stepped away from that path.
In the years that followed, I became involved with The Way Ministry, an independent Christian organization. There, a single verse — 2 Timothy 2:15 (“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”) — changed the direction of my life. It sparked a deep, lifelong passion for studying the Scriptures with care and honesty.
That journey of study eventually led me to write books and papers on biblical chronology and the life of Christ, to create content on YouTube, and to seek truth wherever it leads. Through it all — the seasons of faith, doubt, study, and rediscovery — my desire has remained the same: to know God more fully and to share what I learn with others.
